Becoming a member of Canoeing Victoria

To become a member of Canoeing Victoria, you can join one of our affiliated clubs – there are over 30 in Victoria. When you join an affiliated Club this comprises of paying a Club Fee as well as a Canoeing Victoria fee.

Fees charged will vary from club to club depending on the services the club offers. Check out the Rates and Forms tab to the left for further details.

Join Now – for new members

If your nominated club is accepting on-line membership, please click on the link below. If they have enabled credit card payment you will be re-directed to Ezidebit for processing; otherwise you will need to organise a direct debit or cash payment to the club.

Renewing Membership – for existing members

If your nominated club has enabled on-line renewals, click on the link below and log into the membership database. For first time logins, your username will be your Australian Canoeing Number (don’t know your AC number? Click here to search) and a NEW password that may have been emailed to you. If you do not know your password, select “forgot password” to have one emailed to you via the email address linked to your AC number in the system.

Triallist Form for Canoeing Victoria (previously referred to as Event Licence)
To be completed by all non members before participating
in any club, discipline, state or national event/activity – limit 3 per person.
Club “Come and Try’s” free
For all other events, a Triallist fee of $10 per adult and $5 junior applies**
To be completed by all clubs annually and returned to Canoeing Victoria as part of their affiliation.

How to Form a New Club

To become an affiliated club with Canoeing Victoria, clubs need to be registered as incorporated with Consumer affairs.

Prerequisites:

  • At least 5 members
  • Members have voted and wish to become incorporated
  • Have a name
  • Have a “Statement of Purpose” – Canoeing Victoria include this in their constitution
  • Apply for incorporation with Consumer Affairs
  • Pay the applicable fee to consumer affairs.

Affiliating with Canoeing Victoria

Affiliating with Canoeing Victoria provides your club with Public Liability insurance and directors indemnity for committee members plus a free web site with a domain such as “clubname.canoe.org.au” and an associated email address that is redirected to a personal email.  The web site and database enables member management, emails/ newsletters, calendar’s, news items and other features.  In addition, our administration and education team may provide assistance in areas likegrant applications, membershipadministration, risk management and coach and instructor education.

2016-17 Canoeing Victoria Club Affiliation form

In addition to club affiliation, members of an affiliated club must become members of Canoeing Victoria as well. This provides membership benefits including membership with Australian Canoeing, State and National newsletters, competition infrastructure, personal accident insurance, high performance pathways, representation to government bodies for facility and water way access etc.
