Parks Victoria would like to remind paddlers to be aware of some other extra potential hazards following recent rain across Victoria:
– River Users to be aware of an increase in floating debris on the rivers due to recent heavy rainfall. Objects such as tree branches have the potential to capsize and/or damage vessels. Please report all hazards to Parks Victoria on 13 19 63.
– River Users please be familiar with line buoys located at Wallen Road Bridge, Hawthorn, on the Yarra River. These line buoys are in place as part of the bridge strengthening works listed in the Notice to River Users. The line buoys have the potential to ensnare rowing boats and small vessels, so please stay clear of them when travelling through the bridge area.
